Here is the best back-up for you:
Diving watches
a depth meter (35usd new but you can get a cheaper used)
a watch (this one is 200m rated and can be had for 50usd new)
a few hours sitting on the throne learning about basic deco stuff (priceless and will make you a more safer diver than a back-up DC).
