I started off with a BP/W. And by started off with, I mean I just did the pool and first two open water dives with my setup this past weekend. I still have the last 2 dives to become certed (ocean was too rough this weekend).

I am really liking the BP/W and don't see why I would have gone jacket first. The only "issue" is that you have to lean back when the wing is very inflated at the surface. I just lean at a 45 degree angle or so and I'm fine....I still have to kick constantly a little to stop myself from rotating forward, but I just started.

BP/W is nice and streamlined:
