I currently have an Oceanic VT3 AI hose-less computer that I use as my primary along with a redundant SPG in case my computer fails. I am going on my first out-of-country dive trip and wanted to get a second computer to use as a back up and ditch the single SPG back up.

I like my oceanic. If you have something that you are looking to let go at a reasonable price let me know. I am open to a hosed console computer or even another wrist.

Thanks,

Scott

Why would you ditch the spg. Even with a console you'll need an spg unless you get an air integrated hosed computer. And you will not find a wrist model like that. If it were me I'd keep the spg and get a bottom timer and use tables as back up or something like this

Hollis DG02 Digital Bottom Timer and Nitrox Computer - Dive Right In Scuba - Plainfield, IL

or this:
Oceanic "Veo 100" Wrist Dive Computer, Yellow

not nitrox but hey it will save your dive for 150 bucks.

And in a pinch a simple depth gauge, spg, dive watch and tables will keep you diving. Right now I use a Shearwater Predator and OMS bottom timer for back up. All rely on the spg and I don't care for hoseless AI as it relies on two batteries hence two failure points, and hosed ones are not much better since if the battery dies or unit floods not only do you lose the computer you lose the spg as well.

The Veo 100 was my first computer, and I am considering the same exact thing you are, a wrist mount as a back up. I already have a small Mares SPG for redundancy if the primary computer fails, although I don't use it regularly, only during travel. I have an Aeris Elite T3, essentially the same as your VT3.

For $150 you really can't go wrong. It simply gets the job done. Be careful though as they have an air-only model. The Veo 100 NX is the nitrox model.

Bought a VEO 3.0. Thanks for the information from those who responded. Have a great week and dive safe
