the cave tubing, aerial zip line, hike at jaguar paw is awesome. the lunch you get is really good too and it takes up your whole day!

I actually stayed at the zoo for one night (at the Tropical Education Center). You can take the bus from Belize City ($2.50) to belmopan and ask the driver to drop you off at the zoo/TEC. Housing is dirt cheap ($45 a night for a nice cabin that sleeps 4). Take the zoo night tour $10/person, and go behind the scenes to see the animals up close/feed them/pet them. Plus you get admission for the following day free. It's not too far from the Cayes and well worth it.
