We just got back from our week on Cayman Brac...What a great island. Sweet people, very safe ( a breath of fresh air after some of the places we have been), and a very chill mellow vibe. We stayed in a rented house and cooked our own food ( the markets had plenty for the vegetarians in the group). We chose to dive with Brac Scuba Shack and they were superb. Since it hadn't gotten busy there yet, we had just the four of us and a single diver or another couple on the boat. It was heaven! They were relaxed but attentive, and went out of their way to make our trip memorable. My favorite sites were Anchor Wall and Sargent Major.
The coral seems in pretty rough shape, lots of evidence of bleaching. But Brac Scuba Shack is helping develop a coral nursery, which is pretty neat.
Just a word about Cayman Airways...what is UP with them?? They changed our flight times multiple times, tho thankfully never actually cancelled our flights. Everyone was very sweet but this isn't any way to encourage tourism....just sayin'
That said, I would go back to Brac in a heartbeat....

Cayman Airways had another accident with their Saab 340 and had to take it out of circulation for awhile. They borrowed another plane until it was back in service. They just added another Saab 340 recently. Needless to say, the Brac flight schedule has been a mess for quite awhile now.
