And the big green grin at the head of this post ain't big enough. It was a super trip. Even those who had some transportation glitches and wandering luggage seemed really pleased at the end of the trip. Even the "Airline formerly known as Dutch Caribbean" fulfilled their role in a more or less timely manenr.

20 plus folks traveling under the auspicies of New Horizons made the trip. Many frogfish, a few seahorses, much healthy coral, were seen. I did miss the nude gal from Toledo in the pool outside my balcony, but I did get to see most of the wildlife that was available.

The diving at Buddy Dive Resort was great, as was all of the watersports related staff. The hotel support staff were all friendly and at least trying to be competent. Island time was pretty much the standard all over the island, and once our attitude got adjusted to that--livin' was easy.

I'll bet more will be shared here soon.

I am going on the 16 of this month. Staying at Sandollar. Any tips or suggestions. Things to do or see.

I just got back from Bonaire in July. Great place to dive.

Wife doesn't dive so I think I'll do Buddy Dive next year since it's more of a resort.

I want to dive the Windjammer at 200' next time also.

The donkeys are cool also....

Great prices on jewelry at Atlantis in Kralendyk....but if you're going to be using your credit cards remember to call the credit card companies before you leave and let them know....you cannot dial a 1-800 number to call the credit card from there....at we couldn't...and we tried all options we could think of....

Dive, dive, dive, dive. There was an octopus under the concrete blocks that anchored the Sand Dollar's dive boat. Or so I'm told. Lots of shore diving and night diving right from your dock!

Kralendyk has some shopping. Not that I did much of that. If you are an Adkins dieter don't miss Casa Blanca resturant. We also had a great meal at "It Rains Fishes."

Spend as much time as you can reading the Bonaire Talk discussion forum: http://www.bonairetalk.com/

Have a great time and enjoy the only place I can think of that the US dollar has actually gained strength against the local currency lately!

I am staying at the Sand Dollar. What were the food prices like?

Thanks

Welcome to the board AEIOU.

I find the food (restaurant)on Bonaire about even with what I find here in Raleigh. The prices range all over the place. A good meal can be had for $8 or so and you can spend a bunch for steak and lobster. There are a lot of local places that have great food at good prices. Here are some pictues that you might find interesting. The breakfast was around $7 USD. The menu is IN GUILDERS (aka NFL), to get the USD price divide the price by 1.77 (10NFL= ~ $5.65 USD) This is THE (one and only) menu from one of our favorite places. The food is really good and there is a lot of it.

Thanks Herman,

I had a frozen pizza for dinner so the menu pic made me hungry all over agian.
