Did a Cape Ann Divers Charter on Sunday morning, went to Salt Rock and the New Hampshire with their group of Advanced students. Vis was fantastic on both dives 20-30'. Salt Rock, we found a fissure of granite with a gravel bottom and followed it in one direction, and back. The water was so clear that at 20' at the end of our dive, we could look up and see the boat above us.

Dove Back Beach in the afternoon. Were hoping to do Front Beach, but there was no parking. We were beat from the morning charter, so we were looking for an easy site with an easy entry. We went in around 3:15, 42 minute dive, max depth of 28'. Water was 48*F at the surface, and 46*F at depth. We went in on the left side, went out then turned right and swam parallel to the beach for a while before heading back to the entry. Saw a couple flounder (the ones that Dave missed from the day before?) a sea raven, and lots of cnidarians floating in the water. Vis was even better than on the charter! At depth we could easily see 35-40' and in the shallows were vis was "worse" we still had ~20' of vis!

it's clearing up, bugs and flounders are still shy but coming back... sounds like season is kicked off (well, diving season never ended for me anyway) !

Thanks for the report :)
