My fiancé and I are having a baby in June, and want to take a “baby-moon” trip, preferably in February. We are both avid divers, and although she has graciously indicated she wants me to dive for a day or two on the trip, but she will stick to snorkeling or other activities due to the bun in the oven.

Our travel style is low key. We like smaller, less touristy places where we can be somewhat independent. We have done Bonaire, Grand Bahama, and Akumal for cave and open water diving. We would consider going back to the Yucatán for more cave/cenote diving/snorkeling but are looking for more suggestions.

What say ye Scubaboard? Got any suggestions that would be a good fit for us?

Many people use "babymoon" to describe "the last fun trip we will take before having our first child". I've also heard it used to describe a vacation during which they intend to conceive a child.

What this misses is that the child itself will be the greatest adventure you'll ever have! Our son is 22YO now, soon to graduate from college, and every single day with him is awesome. He's OW certified, we've been to over a dozen countries together as a family, his girlfriend got OW certified with him, etc. He's living his own life now - as children should - but we still chat on the phone every couple of days.

A babymoon isn't the last big adventure... it's the start of the biggest and best adventure!
