I just got back home last night from our July 4th weekend diving from the Rampage in West Palm Beach. All I can say is what awesome dives they were. I made three days of two tank dives and one night dive. As soon as I can figure out how to down load my digital camera I will post my pics. I used my new Sea & Sea Digital camera. What a great camera too! I had a blast wiith it.
Day one: July 4th, 2002
Dive one: Flower Gardens was great saw several turtles and moray eels. One reef shark.
Dive two: Turtle Mound outer edges, again a lot of turtles, and fish of all variety.
Day two: July 5th, 2002
Dive one: Was checked off on my first deep dive. It was just as great as the ones on the fourth. We saw more and more turtles. A few were very friendly and came right up to us.
Dive two: Shallower dive with alot of small juvenile fish to be seen. We saw a lot of lobster and one large crab this dive.
Night Dive: The Trench, this was a great dive we were the lead buddy team to run the trench in our group. I did a check to see how we were doing leading and our neutral bouncy was great we did not kick up or silt the path for those behind. I saw the largest parrot fish I have ever seen, tried to get a picture but had problem framing him. I had some other problems on this dive that I was totally unaware of the cause until return to boat. I dove the entire dive with no weights! Since I am experienced I had to help our float line guide to keep the group together and watch out for those inexperienced or newly certified divers. That makes for a stressful dive and especially at night to watch out for them.
Day three: July 6th, 2002
Dive one: The Three Sisters Wrecks. Wow is all I can say. these were so exciting.
Dive three: Turtle Mound, worked the reef to the statue which is now lying on its side. Crossed over to another reef to finish and my oh my did we ever see lobster. I know I saw atleast 25 of those bugs. As we ascended over the sand looking down there was a large sting ray in the sand. As I said it was awesome.
