Hello. I was having a discussion with some of our guests today about prices for two-tank dives. They claimed that our prices were cheaper than anywhere in the Caribbean, and while I think we do offer reasonable prices ($60 for a two tank dive including all gear), I thought it would be interesting to hear from ya'll about the average price for a two tank dive trip is (icluding & not including gear). How about telling me the last place you dived in the Caribbean, and what the price was for a two tank dive. Thanks!

I pay $62.00 (incl. tax) for a 2 tank dive not including equip in Aruba.

You should accommodate them accordingly. Raise them at once.

LOL. Funny you should say, we just raised our prices on August 1st from $50 for a 2-tank (including gear) to $60 for the same trips. Our price had been $50 for the past 6 years, but I just found old gas receipts and back then gas was $1.68/gallon. I paid just under $5/gallon today. Most people have been pretty understanding.

You are waaaaaay cheap! Most dive ops in Cozumel charge more than $60 and that doesn't include anything but tanks and weights. They charge extra per day for gear rental. So Fla area charge $65-75 per 2-tk dive but that doesn't even include tanks or weights, you have to rent those separately.

Most places we go have packages for a week and that is what we go with so I can't tell you the price of individual dives anywhere else.

The most expensive place we found so far (not counting liveaboards) is Hawaii.... they charge about $135-150 for a 2-tank dive! Some include free gear rental with that, some don't.

The cheapest I have experienced is $45 with no equip (except tank and lead) and the most expensive was $125 with no equip (except tank and lead). One consideration for the $125 was the 1+ hour (each way) transfer from San Juan to Fajardo which was included.

I looked recently at Little Corn Island (Brazil - I know this is not Caribbean but still) and as I recall the dives worked out to be $28 each (without equipment I am sure)....so I would say you are nopt the cheapest but it certainly seems a lot more FAIR than what others are stealing from the consumers.

EDIT *****

With your $60 fee for a two tank boat dive. What exactly does that include? FULL Equipment? SI snack and drinks? Transfer to/from hotel? I still say that you are charging a reasonable rate but it only makes it much much better if you answered that any or all of the above were included.

I seem to find prices to be somewhere between $45 and $110 for a two tank dive depending on where in the Caribbean you are and the exchange rate to US dollars from the local currency. That's on air with no equipment other than tanks and weights.

Staying at resorts where you book multiple dives in a package can reduce that significantly.

$60 for a 2-tank boat dive is still pretty cheap. Some places are more expensive then others. Curacao and St. Lucia seem to be more expensive by $10 then most other places. I think it is more a question of what is the diving like, what is everyone else in the area charging as well as what is the average price elsewhere.

If you are more than someone else local, people will book with the competition. If the diving is not as good but the cost is the same, I'll dive a different island/location. If the diving is more expensive at your location than an equally good location elsewhere, I'll dive elsewhere.

I think most people though would be happy to dive for $60 regardless of how good/bad the diving is. A bad tropical dive is still better than a good dive in my area.

A little high compared to who we dive with on Roatan ie $20 per tank--a la cart......
