Does anyone happen to know which models of dive computers/bottom timers on the market can display average depth during a dive?

TUSA IQ-700 has it. Aladin makes one. And a few others. Of course all of them are going to sample your depth at regular intervals to calculate partial pressures.

I found a lot by searching on google using this string: dive computer "average depth"

Ken

Uwatec Galileo Terra and Sol, Uwatec Tec2g.

Probably one or two others, but definitely those.

The ones mentioned, the VR3 (with a recent software update anyway), the X1, and the one you were born with :P

The VR3 is pretty cool in that it shows you a realtime graphic of the profile. Would be a fun little feature. But it's a bit out of my price range.

Also the standard Uwatec bottom timer, the Digital 330M.

Though I don't think it's re-settable. And it doesn't display seconds.

The Tusa IQ-700 and 'like' models of other branding do not show average depth during the dive.....but will so it upon surfacing.....now they do show max depth during the dive.

Thanks everyone.

Siikik, you seem to have fallen into the marketers trap. Many advertise that they offer Average Depth, but it doesn't show up until you are out of the water. As for the suggestion of searching on Google - my friend, can we assume at this point that everyone on the planet knows how to use Google ;-) Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, I accept it in the manner it was intended.

Back to the computer - I want something that shows it in the dive, like my old UWATEC (but with a backlight, etc.). I'm also looking for something priced along those lines. If I could afford a V3 I'd buy a Liquidvision X1, but it's not on the cards.

I am basically looking for a relatively inexpensive backup system to my brain.

I can't speak for other computers, but note that the Tec2G only shows average depth in gauge mode.

So it's essentially a 600 dollar bottom timer.

Ditto for the Galileo computers (both), but add $150-1000 to that number. ;)
