Australia:Great Barrier Reef: Dunk Isl vs. Heron Isl

We are planning a trip to Australia in Oct 2006. We are trying to decide on staying at Dunk Island or Heron Island. Could anyone give us some info on which is better for diving and relaxing? Thank you,

The reef around heron is much nicer than that around dunk island. both are pretty but very different. I would say hands down that heron is better. its right on the reef and you can walk from your room to the reef. There is some fringing reef around dunk island but generally you would have to take an expensive trip out to see the real great barrier reef.
