diving... whats that

im gonna need a refresher if i dont get in the water soon :shakehead:

fingers crossed for a boxing day dive!

We got a dive in this evening. The seahorses are still there. We found four on the same sponge including the white one.

Found it a bit cool. 17 most of the dive tho one of our computers was registering 16. Sure felt nice when we hit some warmer water on the way back to shore!

Gudge great shots... I am jealous! The lion fish a stunning shot! Stormy can't wait to see yours! It is fun seeing what other people find and I love looking at the way others set up their shots!

Looks like you gate-crashed a seahorse party (convention?) petunia :) 17C is a bit chilly, I think we've caught up to you temperature-wise!

Looking forward to your pics stormyseas. Gudge, how come the puffer has an odd shaped belly? I have seen a few ones like that lately, are they pregnant?

Anyway I have FIVE minutes of work left for the next few weeks and am getting straight in the car at work and driving to the beach for a dive :bounce: :bounce: Aiming for two dives today, one at South Road Bommie and another at Mornington Pier (if we make it for a fill before the dive shop closes!).

I haven't been diving in weeks as i dislocated my kneecap :(so am very jealous of the pics & stories but thankfully I can finally go diving again so I am off to the reef for the day on Monday....am counting down the days & will let you know how it goes :)

Ouch! How did that happen?? Sounds painful... Enjoy your return to diving on Monday, post pictures if you get any :)

I did two dives today. One at South Road Bommie, a nice dive site close to my work. Viz was around 8m. Could barely move an inch without running into a stingray! (ok, that might be a slight exaggeration) Lots of macro stuff too, must be a nursery as there were tonnes of miniature fish.

Then we did Mornington Pier and the viz was about 3m so not great but it was still an amazing dive! Had the most amount of fish life I have ever seen on a dive before. Could barely move an inch without running into a school of fish (that time is not an exaggeration!) Old Wives, mullet, puffers, toadies, goatfish, trevally, moonlighters, carp, a blue ring, stingrays, seahorses and boarfish. Also horrible bitey scalyfins again, their aggression must be a seasonal thing as I have never had such problems with them before!

No pics today as I was diving with my other buddy Michael and we did not have cameras :( Hopefully chilled is diving on Friday so I can FINALLY take some photos, I am missing the camera :depressed:

boxing day spent relaxing and detoxing from the over indulgences... but car is all packed for tomorrow - planning on going to bare island

hubby working on his MEG now :bounce2:

Yea dive sites are really busy these days too... but mainly beachgoers and fishers taking all my parking spaces! :( Can't wait for it to be winter again :D

I got out for two dives today, one at the Dominion and Ozone wrecks. It was awesome! We only planned a 45min dive as the wrecks looked pretty small on top but ended up under for nearly two hours as there was so much to see :rofl3: Then we dived St Leonards Pier, wasn't such a great dive for me as my mask kept flooding and my feet keep floating. Also a fisherman cast his line at me, it had no hook on it, just the weight which hit me on the head. Anyway, I had to abandon watching a cuttlefish and stick my head back under the pier, I was only half sticking out so thought I would have been safe from the lines but apparently not! Viz was only 4m or so, but no surge or current :)

Going back out on Sunday. I LOVE holidays! Can fit in so much diving :):) I have put a bid on a camera on ebay so I hope I win, need my own camera for when I am not diving with chilled!
