:dork2::dork2::dork2:
We wont be there at 7am either, need to get the tanks we used today filled so will be there about 8:15

:shakehead:Fishermen:shakehead: When I surfaced from our evening dive the other day a fisherman stuck into me for cutting his line! He had three huge rods with lines in..... illegal to have more than two in here.

:rofl3:fish surfaced after me and we got talking later.... turned out he got tangled in some line ... there were lines everywhere .....so it could have been him:shocked2:

Well I phoned the family in Canada to wish them Merry Christmas since it is Christmas there today. Then we went diving to distract me from missing being there...

Found one of the angler fish but the other is still missing. Got some shots of pygmy pipehorse four of them at the same spot... brilliant.... they are such amazing little things! Some were so tiny and one of my shots I think shows a baby one... or just my excellent imagination!

Ouch! How did that happen?? Sounds painful... Enjoy your return to diving on Monday, post pictures if you get any :)

I did two dives today. One at South Road Bommie, a nice dive site close to my work. Viz was around 8m. Could barely move an inch without running into a stingray! (ok, that might be a slight exaggeration) Lots of macro stuff too, must be a nursery as there were tonnes of miniature fish.

Then we did Mornington Pier and the viz was about 3m so not great but it was still an amazing dive! Had the most amount of fish life I have ever seen on a dive before. Could barely move an inch without running into a school of fish (that time is not an exaggeration!) Old Wives, mullet, puffers, toadies, goatfish, trevally, moonlighters, carp, a blue ring, stingrays, seahorses and boarfish. Also horrible bitey scalyfins again, their aggression must be a seasonal thing as I have never had such problems with them before!

No pics today as I was diving with my other buddy Michael and we did not have cameras :( Hopefully chilled is diving on Friday so I can FINALLY take some photos, I am missing the camera :depressed:

Well I had somebody fall against me at the exact angle to pop my patella out....not very nice at all but the worst has been not being able to dive as weather up here has been 5 - 10 knots.....I haven't dived in victoria before but you guys definitely see some cool stuff down there even if the viz is not that great...& I was thinking 12 metres here was poor. I went out on a day boat for 3 dives; all of them at Flynn's Reef & saw the usual, white tipped reef sharks, a turtle, different types of clown fish- there are loads of little juveniles around at the moment. What was pretty amazing was this 2 metre queensland grouper that we saw - well it actually came out of a swim through we had plans of going in. :shocked2: It was bigger than either of the sharks we saw... Also found an anemone that was extremely bright pink - can't say that I had seen anything like that before. Saw loads of different nudibranchs but unfortunately I didn't take a camera with me but am out again next week so will make sure that I take it then.
all the best for the new year everyone :D from a happy diver:D

great to hear you got some good dives in. We tend to start one of these threads for each week. That keeps it from getting too long to work through the thread. Pop into the Forums and you can pick up the latest one. Can't wait to see your pictures. It is great to get more people involved in the Australian Forum
