So who is diving this week? :)

I did two dives today, was supposed to be three but I had massive sinus problems and had to sit out the last dive :depressed: I slept in the car whilst the others went out for a pier dive. They told me there was nothing to see but I do not believe them at all.

First dive was a wreck dive, my favourite type of dive :). To the Eliza Ramsden, which is often cancelled due to shipping. It took me five minutes to descend to 18m due to my ears (I thought I was done with my cold but it appears not as I have now lost my voice also) and there was a current running and a lot of surge around the ship. Viz was nice though and I saw a cuttlefish :)

Second dive was to Pope's Eye, where I was constantly mauled by scaly fins. All the interesting stuff seemed to be near their lairs too, so I would get bitten heaps whilst trying to look at stuff. One of them attached themselves to my hand! Chilled found my reaction to their attacks hysterical though so at least he got some fun out of their attacks. I flooded my drysuit heaps when moving my head back and forth to look for them! The current was strong and made the viz crap. Was still fun though as a seal came to play with us, I saw a cuda, and in retrospect the scaly fin assaults were quite funny. After we went to the local dive shop's Christmas Party and had a lot of fun, despite not being able to talk much (that bit was quite hard for me I have to admit).

No pics today but I have gotten some more photos off chilled for the last few weeks so will post some from then!

Hopefully tomorrow.... today.... bed won over ocean...:shocked2: fish had a bit of a headache and I was tired so...

The last couple times we have gone out and not been able to dive so... tomorrow conditions should be better

Hopefully fish and I will have a nice relaxing dive just the two of us... I love doing that every once in a while.. just totally do our own thing

Well have fun tomorrow then petunia + fish :)

I have some pictures from late:

Firstly, a video of a tiny octopus I saw:

Love the bit at the end when it flares out!

Found a buried stargazer, they are hard to spot so I am surprised I saw this one! This one was a baby.

Enjoy your dive! I have the day off work today as I am still sick :( I rung up my boss and he is like 'umm yea I am off today too!' as he is sick also! I just got out of bed! :D

Finally got in a decent dive... five minutes short of 2hours we had a second tank each but fish still declined on my invitation for a second dive:blinking: Maybe a night dive tomorrow....:ssst: don't tell him... I am waiting for the right moment to suggest it...

:depressed:The big seas have driven the anglerfish off somewhere and the pygmy pipehorse seem to have gone too.:depressed: We really searched for them but no luck.:shakehead:

I did find a mass of these cool "purple hairy nudis" that were laying eggs. A close look at the sea tulip and I found one of the rare nudis that only live on the sea tulip... Is this what some of you call sea squirts Aarrdvark?

The little cleaner clingfish was still there and he had a friend! I am amazed at the way it matches the colour of the sea tulip!

We didn't see any of the green morays that have been everywhere lately maybe the are in hiding too!

Cool to see the scuba reindeer is about :)

Love the juvenile box fish (so cute!) and also the octopus!

I dove out at Wheelers Reef today. It was a long bumpy ride over with a number of poor tourist loosing their breakfasts over the side. But the diving was worth it! I even got photos of the 1/2 dozen sharks hanging around. It was so amazing. I will post some pics when I work it all out.
