Didn't look like a thread wast started for this time frame. I hope I did not miss it.

Our trip to Lady Elliott was wonderful and made more so by getting to dive with Aw and A1.

We got a dive in today at Bare Island.. viz was better than we have seen in a while. I found a co-operative female Crimson Banded Wrasse and some interesting Nudi's

Sorry for the number of pics but I am trying to make up for lost time

Can you tell me what time of "worm" the blue one is? I shot a number of them off Shellharbour back in October, and I wanted to identify them properly. Thanks.

Serpent Pteraeolidia... eats hydroids and stores the undigested nematocysts in the cerata on its back. It can sting!

They can have a some variety of patterns and colours... we call them "Purple dragons" or "Hairy nudis":rofl3:

Fantastic shots petunia! So jealous of your LEI trip!!! I'm missing photography a lot :( so I have to live vicariously through others, keep posting :D (getting a new camera early Jan myself..)

In the last week I've gotten out for three dives. First was a shore night dive, was 20C! This is the warmest it's been in Melbourne at this time for at least 10 years (that's as far back as the records go on the website I look at..) Viz wasn't great and we didn't see much but it was a relaxing dive.

This weekend I dived the SS Milora with my dive club:

Weather was REALLY bad, pouring rain and also swell so it was a bit rough. Down at 40m though it was calm and the viz was about 10m though. I was doing training on this dive for a course so had to lead the dive, I didn't quite make it back to the shot by the time our bottom time ran out (only 16mins :( for 37mins overall, didn't feel long enough for a dive :P) but apart from that it went ok I think :) The wreck was huge, heaps of fish around too, we only got to see about a third of the whole wreck (around the engine room) so have to do a few more dives here. Temperature was 14C at depth but 18C at 6m... Before the dive I accidentally threw my compass overboard (and nearly my $500 dive computer...) which sucked! Lesson learned: don't throw things around the dive boat when it is rough as the boat might lurch and cause your stuff to bounce over the side. I also lost a bolt snap but that didn't cost me anything. ;) New compass time...

Second dive we did a place called Pt. Danger Ledges which is near Torquay. Really nice dive site, lots of reef structures + swimthroughs in about 20m of water.

Next weekend I am diving both days, can't wait! :)

This thread isn't the same without your pics Sas.. glad you got a decent dive in. I wouldn't want to have to lead I dive.. I am selfish.. would rather enjoy the dive and let someone else worry about leading :hm: I kinda led the last half of our dive on Sunday tho:doh:

hey petunia
your pics out at at lady elliot are outstanding:acclaim::acclaim:...very well done....must have been nice to have the opportunity for good vis . the wrass and nudi are particulary superb. i've dived there but my pics were not as good as yours.
We just did some diving out the Marion reefs so will downlaod some for show and tell.

We just had a couple of weeks diving the marion reefs in the coral sea.
45me vis on the outside of the walls and sea snakes and grey and silver tip reef sharks every where. Pretty amazing , i just got a new 60mm lens for the SLR and was pleased with the results like this nudi till i drowned both the camera and the lens 1/2 way thru the trip but apart from that had an amazing adventure with excellent diving. should any one want more detail on the trip let me know.
