Is the scuba beach officially open this year?
I could not find a schedule...

I just got back from Catalina and my diving bug is already itching.

Yes, the scuba beach is open. My LDS went out there today and said the surface water was a nice comfy 54 degrees. I think we will go out Monday and see if we can get ice cream headaches. Doesnt it sound like fun. :)

Thanks!

I need to take my gear in for it's annual service today or tomorrow, so perhaps in a week or so! Cool!

Have you dove Aurora yet this season, Ron?

I just got back from Catalina, and it was pretty cold there too!

Wow, Aurora is going to be such a letdown after Catalina! :11:
So did you shore dive or boat dive there? Did you stay at a hotel on the island or were you day-tripping from mainland? We love diving out there so we want to hear all about your trip!

Where is the nearest place to the res. to rent tanks?

You might check Gander Mountain also. Depending on where you live and how you go out there, it's just one exit North of Parker Rd off I-225. Someone in another thead said they rent tanks, but I'm not sure. I stopped by once on my way back from Aurora Res to see about having my tanks filled, but couldn't find anyone to do it. But that was a weekend evening.

Depends on where you are coming from!

There are a lot of LDS's in Denver, and since none are right next to Aurora, then it makes sense to rent on route, or where you live.

The nearest LDS as far as I am aware is UW Phantaseas south.

If you are diving with others, see if they can loan you a tank. You may have to pay for the fill, but I for example don't generally use two tanks diving Aurora! :D
