Received the call-out Sunday afternoon for missing 13-14 year old child in the Ocmulgee River. Report was that family was at the river when one child got into trouble in the water. While the father was helping that child, a second child experienced trouble and could not be helped.

The Milan Volunteer Fire Dive Team, Jeff-Davis Dive Team, Coffee County Dive Team, GA. DNR and several other local agencies assisted in the search and recovery efforts.

Thanks to all who assisted and please pray for the family in this time of loss.

The kids tend to stay with you. If you haven't already take some time to get everyone together for a debrief out of the public eye so you can talk it out.

Do exactly as TC said, TALK IT OUT any way you can. Family, Team, Friends, Chaplain and who ever will listen. Just don’t try and drink it out.

You didn’t put them in a position of danger, someone else did. You did a good thing by returning them with respect.

Good job and kudos to your team.

Thanks T.C. and Gary. We have met and talked about the call. I'm proud to say we have a close-knit group that looks out for each other. It is stressed often that at any call whether it be dive, fire, or medical, resources are always available to help deal with the emotional side or any other need.

Be safe in all that you do.
