Attachments on a thread?

So I see we got the photo gallery working again... Thanks guys!

But are attachments working?

I went to see an attachment off a thread from back in May, and its gone! previously I thought it might have been due to the server problems and related to the photo gallery, but it seems that's working.

so are attachments working? on hold? no working? or only "new" attachments working?


I tried to attach a test pic, but got this: Upload of file failed.

well you can put them in your Gallery, which is working again, or put them on a pic site such as www.Photobucket.com, then just referenced the pic using the

example:
[ img ] http://www.scubaboard.com/images/pxnavyblue/logo.gif [ / img] (note spaces added to make image tag be shown as text instead of picture. Remove spaces and you'll get the below).

Most folks use something like Photobucket. It's free, easy to upload pics to, create folders on, and they provide the [ img] tags below each pic that you can just cut and paste.

Hopefully they'll get the attachments done soon though, as that way you can attach other files, such as WORD, excel, ZIP, or PDF files. Which can be really important if you need to do something like attach directions to a dive site that are in a PDF map for example.

I don't know I tried. Just can't figure out how to get the picts in the post. I did the photo bucket thing and I have them in my gallery. That went petty easy just can't figure out how to get them in the post. I use the manage attchments then upload file from URL didn't work. Pasting the forum code directly in the message box didn't work either. I've seen outhers, the story just ant worth crap with out the picts. I guess I need a little more help.

The above img tag you posted won't work. (maybe it should work, but for some reason it doesn't...)
You need the full domain name in the URL.

like [url]www.scubaboard.com/gallery/name/pic.jpg[/url] [ / img] (without the spaces.)

in your case it would be
[img] [url]http://www.scubaboard.com/gallery/data/596/medium/001.jpg[/url]

However, I noticed the "forum code" has it listed the same way you do. Looks like a problem in their reference to me.

There are still some bugs left in the Photo Gallery. This one is one of them.
