Hi,
I have a DSS Long Plate BP/W setup with a DSS Taurus 26# wing.
My SMB is an XSScuba 7' x 7" wide one and has a double velcro strap deal that seems to keep it quite securely rolled up.
The spool is a Hollis 45m (150') delrin spool with line removed to leave 30m (100') with a good stailess double ender bolt snap.
What is the best way to set these up and attach them to my backplate?
Currently I have tried attaching the rolled up SMB horizontally to the bottom of the back plate with 2 bungee loops and the spool gets attached to the bum d-ring with the double ender once I'm in the water.
This works kinda ok but the bulk of the rolled SMB can be felt while diving and the spool is not currently attached to the SMB for immediate deployment but would rather have to be attached first - this doesn't seem best practice at all.
Also I currently place the rolled SMB behind the crotch strap but have space in a pouch on right hip.
Should the spool be attached to the SMB at all times? I figured by not attaching it then it was ready to be used for other purposes.....
I am not really keen on using a mesh bag attached to the wing.
I had thought about trying it either bungeed to the left hand side of the plate vertically or just rolled and attached to the left D-ring with the double ender but that doesn't seem a very tidy and streamlined solution.
Is there a better way?? Pics would be great to illustrate your suggestions please.
