Attaching Scubapro Air2 to Sherwood Avid BC

I have the Air2 and want to install on my bc. The problem is the nipple on the Air2 is not as long as the Sherwood inflator. The Sherwood rubber hose has to recesses for the zip ties and the upper one is beyond the nipple. Can I cut the bottom of the hose to get it to line up? Any ideas?

which one doesnt fit? the LP hose?

The rubber hose fits it is just the zip tie connections that attach the rubber hose to the air2. I spoke to a local tech who said many bc's only have one zip tie. His suggestion was a little neoprene glue on the inside and then just place another zip tie on there to be sure.
