I have no experience with 'fixed cap' piston 1st stages, but do own (2) Atomics and around (10) Scubapro 'swivel cap' piston 1st stages, and all of them are great for hose routing purposes. That being said, I'm still amazed you can't find good ways to set up hoses on your 'fixed cap' version, (given the abundance of ports available) you may need to touch base with your dive shop or local experienced divers to have them show you how to figure it out
