Hi All,

I recently scored a set of Atomic regs from ebay and was looking at buying a new color kit for the Z2x primary. I've been having a hard time finding the whole set, not just purge cover. Are all of the lower "exhaust" pieces interchangeable between the generations?

I am planning to have them both serviced, and potential have the first stage sealed since I'm doing shore dives here in San Diego and I heard that helps keep silt and sand inside to a minimum, is that indeed the case?

Yes, absolutely, if done right by the technician. All of my atomic regulators are sealed, and they are the most reliable regulators compared with all other brands. They can go on for years without service and perform like new (3 - 8 years).

Great to hear, I'm planning to take them to the shop that most of the divers I've spoken with go to so I'll put my faith in his work.

The beauty of Atomic regs is that most everything is interchangeable.

As for the color kits one does not need a tech to change them out. It is easy-peasy, one just needs a screw driver to gently lift the tabs on the exhaust. Check fleabay as there are often kits for less than retail. Currently here is a yellow Z3 for sale including a mouth piece which is normally not part of the Z kits for a descent price. The seller, Bill is good. Sorry I did not have much of what all you needed.

That was my plan, at the end of my OP I added that I was going to have the regs inspected/serviced due to being unknowns hence the tech stuff Boltsnap was mentioning. It looks like they just pop off and pull apart pretty easily. Thanks for sending the links as well, I really appreciate it.
