The swivels make all the difference. The first stage allows for the hoses to route near your wing and with the 2nd stage there have been a couple of times I've almost opened my mouth and dropped it, it's so fatigue-free. Plus they breathe better than anything else I've ever used - I used to always recommend Poseidon till I bought my first Atomic.

If you get the Z2x doesn't it come with both swivels, just in brass instead of Ti?

I had a swivel on my B1 and it was great, but not if you have to pay retail.
All my Atomic regs are now on Miflex. It works equally well if not better than the swivel, and it's a lot cheaper.

No... according to the tech at my lds, thier hose swivel will not work with the miflex. Since I already have miflex hoses on my old reg I would just change them over to whatever I wind up buying as I like the miflex hoses.

I'm looking for a new reg and have narrowed it down (this week ) to atomics z2x (b2 is a little too pricey) or either aqualung titanx or legend (like their acd).

BTW... I saw that some people have ordered through diver supply. Do the regs they sell come with legit warranties?

I have a Z2 for myself on a 7 ft hose. I got my fiancee a Z2X on a standard length hose. She loves the swivel. The long hose configuration in my opinion improves the mobility of the reg. I believe the swivel could possibly make it better but for me not necessary. These regs are the dryest best breathing regs I have used. ( I rented different brands before). Scubalab is spot on with their reviews. My stuff came from Caveadventurers.

I had the same debate, B2 Vs. Legend LX Supreme, and I opted for the Legend, the ACD and Parts availability in remote locations is what tipped the scale in the Legends direction, even thought the B2 would have matched the SS1 I purchased at the same time.

So, where did you buy the legend... online or lds? Hard to find pricing for them online. I know I don't need the supreme becuase I don't dive cold water.

I keep coming back to aqualung for the same reason you did.... availability to get it fixed almost anywhere in the world I go dive. On the other hand, in the 21 years I've been diving, I have never needed to have my reg serviced on a trip. :blinking:

according to the Atomic website Divers-Supply is an authorized dealer, as far as i can tell.

I had a good experience with them. Their prices seemed to be same as all other online reatailers i could find at $650 for the B2 and $250 for the SS1. They had a special deal with $100 gift card (on next purchase) if i buy the B2. They let me get both for $800 so i got the B2 for like $550, which i thought was a killer deal. And obviously i got no tax and free shipping as usual. Even came with a free regulator bag.

I'm still new so this is going to be my first experience with a higher end (non rental) reg. Hopefully i'll get to put a dive in on it in 2 weeks before i take it with me to Costa Rica.

I have the Atomic Z2 w/o the swivel, I love it , and I am sure that with the Swivel it would be even better, its a very easy breathing regulator reguardless of depth
