Which of these two regulators do you recommend? Both are excellent and the local dive shop is recommending the atomic but the aqualung has the lifetime parts warranty. HELLLLLPP ;)..

I have the Aqualung Titan LX and love it. Easy breather always. I like the lifetime warranty, but you have to have it inspected on schedule every year by a certified tech or it is voided.

It's the classic rivalry - Piston(Atomic) vs. Diaphragm(Aqualung) They both rate as equally good breathers. Main physical difference seems to be the the second stage adjustment - Resistance knob vs Venturi switch.

What kind of deal can you get on a B2? It comes with the lighter(think jaw fatigue) Titanium second stage and the Atomic 2 year recommended service interval.

I know the B2 has the same breathing characteristics as the better Atomic's, if the Z1 is the same, I'd buy it.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about the lifetime parts warranty, servicing my Atomic T1 cost me $60 parts/labor this summer.

Go for the Atomic.

I just got mine serviced for the first time in close to 2000 dives (that is not a typo!)
Breathed excellently the whole time too.

I've got a few of Aqualung Titan LX'es and Aqualung Legend LX supreme's, and they're both excellent regulators, which have never skipped a breath for me.

I would not hessitate getting the Titan LX, and between the Atomic and Titan I'd pick the Titan based on the fact that they've proved to work for me -- but I have no experience with Atomic, so I can't tell you which between the two is "better"

All the Atomics share the same design on internal parts, the difference is in the materials used in the valve bodies, they will all breath EXACTELY the same from the T1 to the Z1. The Z1 second stage is exactly the same internally as the M1, and the Z1 first stage is the same as the B2 second, except that it does not have the swivel feature on the first stage (this makes the Z1 first stage smaller..lighter, and with one less failure point). A Titanium second stage weights 1/2 OZ less than the brass second, so I don't think you will ever notice the difference in weight. There is about 1/2 LB difference in the weight of the first stage between Titanium and Brass, but again when it's attached to the top of a 35-40 LB Tank, I don't think you will be able to tell the difference.

You can add the M1 exhaust to the Z1 for about $15-20, and you can also add the swivel hose to a Z1. I did just that to my Z1 and ended up with less than $350 invested.

All the Atomics have a lifetime warranty that does not require regular service intervals to keep in effect.

The Atomics are great regs, you will be happy with any of the Atomic regs.

I'm all for the Aqualung... I find that it breathes evry eveny at all depths, it can be easy to maintain yourself, and i have never had a problem with it...

wow you guys are making it extremely hard on me hahaha.. seems like the atomic is the way to go just because more of the people one here give good detail about them. what is the advantage of the m1 exhaust on the z1?

It is a wider exhaust, so the exhaust bubbles stay more away from your field of vision. I think it also comes std on the B2 now. If you look at the 2nd stage pics on Atomic's website, you should see the difference.

I have an M1 and I love it. If I had to choose I am not sure. The Titan is a great rer too by all accounts. I'm not sure about the waranty for the Aqualung, but I do know the that Atomic won't void your waranty if you miss a scheduled service.

Either way you go you'll have a great regulator.
