We have Oceanic BCs and have decided to get integrated inflator/safe second regs. So, my choices are these two.

Are there any pro/cons to these two units?

I have an Aeris ATMOS XT BC (Aeris & Oceanic are sister companies).

I have the Atomic SS1 for my safe second and it is excellent. Besides the outstanding quality it has has a nice feature that allows you to simply unscrew the unit from the corrugated hose.

The feature make flushing the BC bladder with fresh water very simple. As with many things the fact that it is so simple means that flushing the bladder actually get done instead of being put off until later.

The ability to simply unscrew the unit also means it is less likely to get damaged since it does not have to stay attached to the BC. The fact that it unscrews also makes packing for a trip easier. I carry on my BC, regulator, dive computer, prescription mask and several other small items.

I own three of the Atomic SS1 units and I have not had any trouble whatsoever with any of them and I have never has any of them free-flow. I dive in water from about 420 F (New England to Pennsylvania) and 830 F (Caribbean).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for your info. The SS1 is about $75 more, but I am leaning more and more towards getting it.
