I purchased an Atomic B2 and SS1 Octo a few months ago and the SS1 has developed a slow leak after around 15 dives or so. I like the rig alot but this leak is really starting to bum me out. LDS has not been able to correct the problem. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the SS1 or did I buy low end? Any suggestions on servicing this is greatly appreciated. Thanx

I've not had any leaking issues with my SS1.
I've had mine for about 1 year and have about 70 dives on it.

Call Atomic directly and ask them.
I've talked to them on the phone; they are really nice
& knowledgeable folks.

About 50 dives on mine without a problem. (knocking on wood)
Good luck and let us know how the problem is resolved.

Relax. This should NOT be a problem with Atomic. Call them directly. If they cannot fix, they will replace.

Ask for Dean, he will take care of you.

Which part is leaking? Is air escaping from the red? Air leaking into the wing?

Funny that you say this...it's been a popular topic of conversation between me and buddy Mike. We both own the SS1 and have had the same problem. I took mine to my LDS where I purchased it and he tweaked on it for a while...adjusting the hex screw in the SS1. When that did not fix it, we took a look at the first stage. Come to find out that the SS1 is rated for like 130psi or something like that and my first stage was putting out between 135psi and 150psi. It was fluctuating with each breath out of the reg. He put in a parts kit in the first stage and all is good now.

My buddy Mike has not yet had them check his first stage for operation....but they have tweaked on his SS1 and the last couple of dives we did were without issue.

But just wanted to let you know you weren't alone bro....this problem seems to be more common than you think. It's a good piece of equipment when working correctly. ;)

About 120 dives on both mine and my wifes. No leaks here.

Atomic should fix or replace it no problem and your LDS should loan you an Octo while your SS1 is in for repair.

50 to 60 dives on my SS1, a few less on my wife's... Working flawlessly (and I will swap into my SS1 every few dives, just to check on real world operation).

However, I will be interested on hearing what Atomic says about your poblem. I was curious about Divmstr's experience, and was wondering whom's 1st stage you're using. I would be surprised if Atomic would tune it's 1st to put put a higher psi then the SS1 can effectively handle.

When we went with integrated, we started out with a different brand/model, and weren't happy with button placement or breathing ease. We've found the Atomics (both our B2's and SS1's) to be incredibly reliable and intuitive.

Let us know how it turns out...
