I have a few quesiton about Atomic reg.

1. What is the difference between the 2nd stage: Ti2, B2, Z1. I know Z1 is zercuriu, B2 is titanium. What about Ti2? If it is titanium, how is it different than B2 except the look.

2. For older 1st stage, like T1, B1, when service, do I have to upgrade the older piston assembly? What is the differences between say T1 and T2?

There is no functional difference. The inlet tube for the M1 and Z2 is brass where for the others it is titanium. Otherwise the differences are mostly cosmetic.

One does not need to upgrade the piston if the seat is fine (i.e. no creep). Atomic no longer makes the old HP seats. If there is creep then the piston will need to be upgraded. All the other parts are the same.

I upgraded the piston in a B1 a few years back due to major IP creep, no issues ever sense, if you're buying an older Atomic you might as well go ahead and do the piston upgrade as you likely need to get the reg serviced anyway and the HP seat that's in it now won't last forever. I refuse to go diving with 'questionable' gear, remember, it IS life support gear!

Like others already said, the Z1 and M1 has different metal than the B2 and T2 second stages.

The M1's second stage further differentiates itself from the rest of the line by having a built-in heat exchanger to help keep it from freezing in cold water, a wider bubble deflector and a stronger platic purge cover to resist unwanted purging if you were to enter a cave and have current screaming at your face. It also can be retrofitted with "cave rings" so that you can disassemble the second stage easily and clean out silt/gunk right then and there.

Thank you all the information. I think I will be a owner of T1 1st & Ti2. My newer acuqired mk10+ will be up for sale soon
