Any opinons on on a new reg. I currently use a Aqua Lung Titan LX that has served me well thru classes upto finishing my advanced certification. I mostly dive in the Carolinas and Va on wrecks. Also planning a trip to Bermuda in June. Water temps usually not much colder then 45 degrees at the worst.

I am considering the Atomic line, either a M1 or B2. Or I might go with the Agua Lung Legend Series as I have had no problems with my titan lx, which will now be my pony bottle reg. I also dive Nitrox with HP 100 steel tanks.

Any thoughts or suggestions on the Atomic or aqua Lung would be appreciated by anyone with experience. thanks

Biggest differences are the M1 is made of monel which is good out of the box at 80% O2...unlikely to be a major discriminator for most rec divers...the second is that the M1 is stock environmentally sealed....again, unless you are diving COLD water and are worried about freeze ups or dive contaiminated water, you probably dont' care...if you do, you can order the B2 environmentally sealed. The B2 has a stock swivel, which you can add to the M1. I haven't priced the two in a while, so unless the M1 is cheaper, I'd say the B2 is a better choice for most divers.

I have a Z1 and love it. Howevever my next reg will be the Apeks atx100/200 line. Atomic makes great regs, they breathe nicely but seem to hard sometimes to find a service center.

As far as service issues go you can deal directly with Atomic Aquatics, I think that their customer service beats any other manufacturer out there bar none. You can't beat the flow through piston design for ease of breathing.

My primary is a Legend LX which I bought when I started into doubles. My secondary reg. (my orginal primary) is my Atomic Z1.

The only reason that I like the Aqualung for a primary is the ease of breathing (while marginal that is noticeable) and the fact that it seems to be slightly less prone to free-flows. But, the Atomic is a great regulator and it won't be going anywhere away from me anytime soon.

You can't go wrong with either one. BTW, one of my buddies has the TitanLX and has no problems with his regulator either.
