Atomic M1 or SP MK25/G250HP are the two regs I'm looking at. I really believe either will perfrom great so that isn't the issue. I like the fact that Atomic does not void the free parts if you are late on your service BUT SP setup is cheaper. What do you think?

My dive buddy has both. He says to get the SP because it's cheaper and breaths just as well..

I also have the MK25/250hp set.. I love it. I highly recomend this setup.

Also when it comes time to get serviced. It will be much easier to find someone to service a SP over an Atomic.

I have an SP Mk25/S600. It is a great reg and cheaper than the M1. However, I do often think I should have just bought an Atomic Z1 and saved a little more than $100. It breathed just as well as my SP. My next reg will be an M1.

I've been pricing the SP mk25/g250hp and it is 430 at LDS. At LP it is 320. The M1 is 630 at LDS and 475 at LP

I am going to get it at the LDS then have my credit card do a price match to refund the other 110 or 155 depending on which reg I get.

I am really leaning toward the mk25/g250 because it's cheaper and I get my stuff serviced every year anyway. I was waiting for someone to mention something that I hadn't thought of to sway me one way or the other.

Can you expand on this? I've never heard of C/C price matching . . .

An example of this is AMEX. They have a little known program for their paid cards (not their free "Blue" cards) that will send you a check for the difference of an overpaid item up to 90 days after purchase. They require you to fax the add of the lower price (can be an internet add) along with your store reciept and they process it and send you a check for the difference up to $250 with a yearly max of $1000.
I have used this for a few digital cameras and also my Sea&Sea strobes. The great thing with the digital cameras is that I found some really low prices at a not so reputable internet store thatis known for trying to tack on really expensive accesories. Amex didn't care as it was a valid add and viola I got my CP5000 for $230 less than anywhere else.
With the regs I am about to purchase I get the best of both worlds, LP prices with LDS service, support and warranty.
I found out about this a few years ago from another message board and kept it in mind. Then when it was time to use it I searched Amex's web site for the info and could not find it. I then went back to the old thread on the message board where I heard about it and the link was there. I now have this link bookmarked as it is apparent amex does not want to make it easy to find. Here is the link Amex BVG, treat it like gold.

I expect a HUGE thank you for all those that are about to save some dough and still keep the lifetime warranty and my membership status should be bumped up a few notches;) .

Whoa! What a policy, no wonder they keep it under wraps. Thanks for sharing the wealth. ;)

I know. It's one of those things that's too good to be true, but seeing is believing.

I see my member status hasn't changed.;)

I think it takes 100 posts for the upgrade.
