I'm looking at getting a regulator in the future and was wondering about the differences between the Atomic B2 and Z2.

I know the B2 is a titanium second stage. I know the Z2 has a couple of titanium parts and coating on the rest.

Is the first stage the same? Do they breathe the same?

Is the coating on the Z2 more corrosion resistant than a regulator from some other mainstream brand.

I know the B2 has the swivel. That's not important to me. I'd rather have a MiFlex hose.

Thanks for any info.

fisherkid,

Sounds like you have it down mostly. The B2 and Z2 feature the same overall design minus the first AND second stage swivels on the B2 and materials that some of the parts are made of. They will breathe the same but look a little different and don't forget the $$ difference. The miflex hose really does help the lack of a swivel on the Z2 and the Palladium / Zirconium coating on the second stage parts is more corrosion resistant than metal parts that you will find in competing regulators (this is only in the second stage). They are both great choices in my book it's just a matter of preference and affordability.
