Which should I get? I don't imagine they breathe that differently...how far does 200 bucks of stainless steel get you as opposed to chrome plated brass?

Stainless has about the same level of corrosion resistance as titanium at a lower cost, while also being stronger than brass. Additionally, stainless does not require any protective plating, so it is more environmentally friendly to manufacture. If you are not concerned with any of these aspects, then you are probably better-off saving your money and going with the B2; it will certainly perform every bit as good otherwise. I dive the B2 and can attest to its' excellent durability and performance.

Good answer, +1. If I had the money to spare I'd go the ST just because I like SS, but as Carlos posted, breathing wise you'll not notice any difference. Either will last your lifetime.

Also the ST1 comes sealed.

While true, some what of a moot point as any of the Atomic reg can be sealed. IMHO most regs do not need to be sealed. Besides, it just pisses the tech off and costs you money.

While I feel just the opposite, lol!
To me, sealing addresses the two deficiencies of pistons over diaphragms, junk inside and ice formation. And when sealed, if you do couv's regulator checklist, you can skip annual service for 2, 3, 4 years or more. Forget to rinse? Not much of a problem.
And you get all the benefits of pistons.

Technician upset? So pay the extra $60 for cleaning and new lube, and skip a year or three's service.

Nah, you do enough of them you just get dejected.:depressed:
