I'm a Fish!
Does anyone have experience with the Atlantis submarine in Cozumel? I need something to keep the wife and kids occupied so I can dive, dive and dive some more!

I plan on being in "Hog Heaven" regardless of the swine flu

It's a dive trip. What are you looking for - a deployment for them? That would be a pretty cool vacation idea.

Usually see the "sub" at Bolones de Chan Kannaab site. I need to figure out a way to get out of my wet suit and still be close enough to my tank/rig for a full moon shot:D:mooner::mooner::mooner:!

Maybe you could arrange a dive at that site at the same time your family is in the sub. Sorry, never booked a sub trip. In the past we exchange strobe flashes with the peeps inside the sub. Kind of fun none the less. I always wonder what they are saying over the PA system when they see divers... El Loco? ;)

I've seen it come in to dock at the end of the day, looks pretty cool from underneath. At first I was like....uh, what the heck is that thing?

Basically you pay $100, ride the shuttle boat down near Chankanaab, get on and do a 40-minute dive, then ride the boat back.

I did the Atlantis with the wife in Grand Cayman about 10 years ago as that was the only way I could get her underwater. ;)

It was kinda neat, but when we were at 110 fsw I wished I had brought my gear and they had let me out to have some fun. :D

Once was enough for me; a 2 tank dive trip is cheaper and more fun...for me. But, if your family doesn't dive it may be a way to get them to see what's underwater for a bit. The wife liked it, but I still can't get her in water over 4 feet deep while swimming and diving is out of the question. :shakehead:

I did the sub at Cayman about 4 years a go with my wife (she cannot dive) and she was thrilled to be at 103fsw for the first time in her life.
It was worth the one time shot.
I did want my gear so I could be outside the sub, however....

The submariners get really excited about seeing divers on the reef.
