:xmas3: Santa was kind enough to give me a complete TransPlate BP/W for Christmas, but I've run into a snag putting it togther. It appears that DiveRite has changed the "deluxe" harness for 2006 but has not updated its instruction manual, and I've had no response to an email asking for help. (Another thread suggests they are closed for the holidays.)
While looking at photos and past instruction, plus using a bit of common sense, has helped to determine what appears to be the (a?) way of putting it all together, I'd rather know that it's assembled in the manner intended. Is there anyone out there who has experience with the new harness who can provide advice? Clear photos / diagrams?
The main issue lies with the waist belt. In the old system there were two straps, both tied off to the plate. Now there is a single strap which I gather runs through a slot on one side, along the back of the plate, and back through on the other side. This works fine, except that the strap partially covers the lower tank strap slots, something that wouldn't have been an issue with the ols system.
Oh yes, and each of the shoulder pads has a small velcro patch which lies under the "D" ring which is the connection point for the shoulder straps, the chest strap and the straps running to the waist strap. Can't figure what they're for.:dontgetit:
In the event that I've missed something obvious, be gentle!
