Hi all,

Does anyone have any advice on where in Asia has the best conditions in late september? Could you please give details of what the area is like ie. lots of coral, pelagics or Mantas and also general costs?

Sorry for such a broad spectrum question

regards

Bali would be a good place to start. September is still in season for big things like Sunfish (Mola Mola). These are seen most often at Nusa Penida, close to Nusa Lembongan, in the SE of Bali.

September is also a good month for Sipadan. Out of the peak season, but great diving to be had, sure to see sharks and "a few" turtles :)

Have fun!

Ya Bali would be pretty nice to do a trip. Am planning to go coming mid September but not for the sunfish...haha

Good to know. We will be there at the end of September.

You could look at : www.mcdivebunaken.com or www.bunakenvillage.com.
Two diveresorts on Bunaken Island Middle in the famous Bunaken national Park.
The prices are very reasonable and they offer good and relaxed diving.
September is still very good for diving in the Bunaken National Park, the rainy season starts at the end of october.

For September (and possibly other months, you would have to check) currently the Singapore Airlines Web site https://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_UK/ is offering fantastic rates to Bali or Manado from Los Angeles round trip (return) for US$1033 (plus your Indonesian international departure tax to be paid in rupiah cash upon departure which is about 75,000 rupiah or US$8. You should also check upon arrival ).

And yet another vote for Bali. :D
