so as i posted i was out diving this weekend (as usual)
my friend who is often my dive buddy had to work sat afternoon, and sunday so he couldnt join us, ( He works at a aviation company in Plymouth)
so i guess he had some free time in the morning and decided to come out anyway.
on his way back he took some pics of newport.
i enjoyed them so i figured is share
heres a few he took with his digi cam he took alot with 35mm so those should be even clearer.

i thought it was funny im gearin up to splash. and.. vroom he buzed us on the boat....:lol:

Well, that's pretty cool if ya ask me! It's a nice thing when friends vroom by to say "Hey!" :D Great pics too.
 
yeah hes pretty good at takin pics..
we knew he was commin out to take pics too..
we gave him the numbers for the wreck we where on

Wanna see something cool.... look closely at the first two pictures, from the air you can actually see those really long wavelength swells that were giving you surge on the L-8 very clearly.
 
yeah. good eye man...
he took them when we where on the L8 actually. when we where gettin that surge. later in the day it died down a bit with the tidal change

EDIT: i have a handfull more pics hosted on photobucket too i just didnt feel it was nessary to post 12 pics of the same thing

If you look at the waves in those pictures you will notice there are some really broad waves with a long distance between crests. You can get an idea off the distance from the boats in the picture.

In another thread Diesel was talking about how he had some mysterious deep surge on a wreck he was diving. Those waves were the source of the surge.
 
actually..

on sunday on the stern of the Blackpoint. there was no current all day, even tho the viz could been better,
when i went to pull the hook at the end of the day, i noticed that surge again, but very very faintly, and i could see it in the particulate in the water surging back and forth in the water, (this was only on the bottom 10 feet or so)
