I just saw another thread mentioning Coz, so I figured I might as well post this, even though it is kind of late.

I'm leaving for Aruba tomorrow. Stating at Costa Linda and diving with Pelican all week.

So if anyone else is going down, maybe we can meet up.

It would be cool to do a WARM WATER WV dive!

Chris- Have a ball dude!!!!

Drop a line and post some pics when you get back.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Great week!

Water was 85 degrees at 85'

did my AOW - figured at least they let me do the dives from a boat, not the same quarry I've already done most of those AOW dives in anyway. And to those that ***** about how they rush you through training in the islands, you try doing your nav dive in a very shallow spot (aka: harder to control byoancy), that you're not familiar with, with not the greatest vis, and a pretty strong surge!

New rig kicked aaaaaaaaaaaaaass!, Martin like you said no weight (started with 4lbs., then 2lbs., could have lost that, but instead lost the belt and moved it to my top cam strap (mainly for trim) not that I really needed the weight) Sooooo easy to dump air without those damn 4mm gloves too! Oh yeah and the jets were great too, may just need to get smaller springs.

Did some great dives, including a night dive on the Antilla. I'll have to check the pics when I get them back, but just in case I paid a few bucks to have one of their guys take some digital shots on one of my dives (not much more than what I pay for film and developing on my stinkiy shots, plus he shot a few short videos too).

Dove with some cool people, including one guy from Philly, who's at Dutch all the time. Saw a few clowns too. One guy practically ran the New York Marathon across the bottom on his fins, then blew his air at least twice as fast as everyone else in the group, oh and lost his tank too! And I didn't even get a thank you for noticing and riging it back up for him!

Aruba 11/2003

May have a few more, if the ones I took with my stinky UW camera come out! Have a couple of pretty cool video clips too, but no place to post them.

Except for the surface shots, they were all taken by one of the guys at Pelican. Most of the surface shots I took from the boat.

Just put a few more up.

The new ones are UW shots that I took.

They actually didn't come bad especially with my stinky camera!

GREAT PICTURES!
I am going to Aruba March 5th and hope to do allot of diving. How was Pelican? Were their boats over crowded?

Everyone there was great.

The only time it was overcrowded was the 1:00 dives at the Pedernalis, because that's where they take all the resort and refresher divers.

There were actually a few boats with only maybe 4-6 divers tops, one time it was actually just me and one other diver. I thin Nov is the slow season for Aruba though.

I may be going back in March, I'll let you know if it's the same week.

I'm heading to aruba in 4 weeks. Can anyone recommend a dive operator who has DIN tanks? Pelican? Thanks.

Are there any? I doubt it. I've never heard of operators in resort (warm) areas having DIN tanks.

Why don't you get an a yoke connector for your reg? I don't think they're that expensive and only take a few minutes to change over. I have a yoke now, but will be converting my tanks and regs to DIN soon, but I'll still keep the yoke for vacation diving.
