I was alerted of this terrible slander of a company that has provided good facilities for me and many of my friends. I felt that since the company chose not to defend themselves, someone should, and I am that person. Stop with the negativety people and don't worry I excuse myself from this board. I guess because I'm not on your side, and welcomed. :mooner:

It's not about taking one side vs the other. It's about being HONEST!!!! The very fact they don't come on here and "defend themselves" is because what defense is there for lying on your website? It may be different if the shop had just closed down within the past few weeks and they hadn't had the chance to update the website. But it sounds as if they haven't had a real shop there in years. How long would it take for them to change things to reflect the truth? If she is dishonest in the advertising part of her business, what other areas does she lie about.

I just hope the word spreads about "Aruba Pro Dive" and they go under. There are plenty of honest businesses out there doing it the right way and that's who needs to get our business.

Good post. Agreed.

There are plenty of honest businesses out there doing it the right (and honest) way.

There is no reason to support a business that:
  • implies they are a shop when they are not.
  • lies about their boat or max number of people on their boat.
  • books you with a different shop without being upfront about it.
  • Places you with a dive operator that you have no advance opportunity to verify their customer service and safety record.

There are just other operators out there that are good ones, so no need to bother with the "shady ones"

I haven't dived Aruba, yet. This post made me look at the website in question. I would have thought they were a dive op form all the "we" "us" and "our" references on the page. The website is misleading and I would not do business with them for that reason.

If Aruba Pro Dive is an agent for small dive shops that is fine. List yourself as that; list the shops you use. If you really offer their services at the same retail price the dive ops charge, say so on your site. The fact that you choose to make yourselves look like something you are not makes me wonder what else you may mislead a customer about. You say you are an agent and that there is nothing wrong with that. I agree, but you choose to hide the fact on your website.

Was "beware!" too strong a word? Maybe, maybe not, but I am glad to have seen this thread and can make up my own mind about how I feel about the deceptive advertising.

You may be a great operation, but you have lost a bunch of potential customers through a deceptive website. Now, offering six packs but delivering cattle boats is another problem, but I don't even need to go that far.

Edited to add: On a humorous note, I noticed STKBUBBLES (who has odd syntax for someone from N.J.) lists him/herself in the public profile as a "Dive Con." I thought that was appropriate, in a Freudian sort of way.

Love It! :rofl3:
