    Perhaps ... it's cold, sometimes murky, and can get crazy deep in a hurry. You have to plan your dives around tidal exchanges and currents ... or limit them to just a handful of "protected" dive sites.

    On the other hand, the abundance of marine life here makes it way worth the effort ...

    I was kidding, of course. I have been diving in Puget Sound 3 times, and saw some fantastic things.
