The last two issues of Undewater magazine have a great article dedicated to regulators. Detailed diagrams and very easy to follow descriptions.
The latest issue with Part II of the article just came out few days ago, the previous one I think is from January.
Don't know if the on-line version of the magazine (www.underwater.com) will have it, but I suppose it's worth the try.This is not a recreational publication but I think anyone can get a subscription.
