My wife and I had our gear in the car about to go to Chatfield to try out my new dry suit when she said: " I really dont want to do this" ... so, where is the store around here where you can rent a dive buddy? :depressed:

I feel your pain!

I take it you didn't buy her a new suit to try? If you want to go next weekend (11th) let me know. I'd prefer Aurora res tho.

Thanks Mark-- No, she didnt want a dry suit..but she has a 5mm wet.
I'll definitely do it next weekend-- I've been wanting to go to Aurora. I'll get in touch with you next week.

FIVE MIL????? I wouldn't go either. YOU take the 5 mil and I'll take the dry suit!
Seriously, I wouldn't consider jumping into any lake around here in less than a 7.
Aurora Reservoir - Fish Explorer Colorado Lakes
6/30/2009 - Aurora Reservoir - The reservoir is open to boating. The water temperature is 63 degrees.

Actually I was in Chatfield last weekend and the water temp was 70 F at the bottom-- I get cold very easily, but I have dove comfortably in 70 degree water several times with my 5. If she wanted I would certainly buy her a drysuit or a 7mm. For her, the turnoff is the crappy vis and the lack of cool things to see.

If here turnoffs are low vis, and nothing to see, she is not going to want to dive much in CO. On a GREAT day, you may get 30' VIS in a high mountain lake. Normally it is more like 10', and often closer to ZERO! :shocked2:

Now you see why I'm desperate for a local dive buddy !

It was close to ZERO last weekend.. My mistake was telling her all about it :banghead:
