I would like to here from anyone that is diving with an argon bottle for there drysuit. Pro's vs Con's, price, where to get it. Thanks for the input.

I use a 6cf AL argon bottle when diving doubles with trimix. When diving a single with EAN32 I use back gas for suit inflation.
In either case I pre-purge my suit with argon before the dive.

No negatives to argon IMO...
The benefit is added insulation value...
My cost is $.15 cf... (plus the yearly lease on a 300 cf cylinder)
I have a contract price from a local welding gas supplier.

My wife uses argon. She pays $.50 cf (she doesn't know UP's gas supplier). She's had it less than a year. So far she's spoken of no down side. She claims to stay much warmer. Like Uncle Pug, she's using a 6cf AL bottle (but no doubles). If you can't get a deal with the local welder, check your tech shops. Ours all carry argon.

Ditto UP's reply except I purge my suit twice. Using Argon and dry gloves, for me anyway, is the only way I can stay warm and complete dives with bt's in excess of 60 min.

I use a small 6 cu ft. bottle mounted to my waist strap. Small and out of the way.

Tanks for all the info. I really would like to do some colder water dives, like the Great Lakes or Alaska and I've heard a lot about the use of argon. Once again thanks for the info
