Just wondering if anybody had an idea where I might be able to get my argon tank filled in Toronto (or not too far out of the city)?????
If it matters... it a 20cu.ft. pony with a DIN fitting...
It has been painful just talking to people at compressed gar companies.....
Thanx in advance.....

Try Dive Source in Oshawa, I don't think any one is mixing in the general Toronto area.

Cheers

Apparently Aquarius does PP blending, don't know about argon though. (I'm still at the air-in-suit stage)

You can also contact Aquasub at www.aquasubscuba.com or 905-883-3483. They're on Bayview, just south of Elgin Mills. They offer nitrox and trimix; argon is coming for the winter. :)

Yikes that is up out in the country.

FYI
Its:
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."

And yes it is Thoreau. :D

To my knowledge the only people even close to Toronto that have both the booster and argon needed to do the job is Dan's Dive Shop in St Cathrines.

Remember an argon supply cylinder is filled to 2200 PSI to begin with so the best you are every going to do without a gas booster is 2200 from full with it getting markedly worse with every fill. For those of us with little 6 cf wreck cylinders that is pretty much useless.

I know Dan's always has argon as they use both it an a whole lot of trimix regularily. They are around an hour and a half from downtown.

Sheesh...about darn time someone told me that...the Thoreau thing, I meant! Thanks, d33ps1x!

Aquasub does have a Haskell, FYI. And it's way less than 1-1/2 hours from downtown Toronto. :)

PS...see, I changed the signature! :)

Hi

There are a few teck guys in Toronto including myself who do have haskell pumps to blend, but our doors are not open to the public. Aquarius does pump Nitrox and may have some argon. Your next best choice would be Brian up at Dive source in Oshawa.

Is Aquasub's booster operational now?

If it is working then that is good news locally if you live at the north end of town. Down by the lake here it's still probably quicker to head over to Dan's.

Thanks for the info Scubagirl and no prob on the Thoreau biz. :D

Argon can be purchased in 4500psi bottles and has been in dive stores for a number of years around the gta off and on.
