No, this isn't a touchy-feely question about sensitivity . . . .

I just purchased a new Worthington X-130. I noticed that the valve is ultra sensitive; if I just open it a bit, its at full pressure. And I mean a bit; barely turn the valve.

Comparing to my PST HP100, I have to turn the valve on the PST almost 2 full turns, before its pushing full pressure.

The problem is its going to be very difficult to just crack the valve to connect a O2 meter, and get a good reading.

I haven't had a chance yet to ask my LDS to compare to other similar valves. It what I describe normal for these valves, or not?

Yes this is normal--I have the same issue with mine. After a while you just get used to SLOWLY opening the valve just a tiny bit...

Yep, the Thermo's are pretty much instant on; I use 'em for my back gas tanks. For Deco Bottles, I use Scubapro Valves: much easier to modulate when slowly opening that O2 Bottle. . .

Thanks guys; guess I'll have to learn to open v - e - r - y slowly, or switch out the valve, so I don't blow out my analyzer.
