Are there any entry tech courses that include Trimix?

..It wa quite apparent that the HELIUM did as far as cleaning the mind. My buddy and went the same sea pen bed...
Once on air(don't go into sea pens, they'll get you!!)..... and once on TRI(Crystal clear, Hey look at the pens) Full 180*...... The thing is, TRI, is very expensive for a tank. But don't let that discourage you, Tri knocks out the NARC, which used correctly is much safer.
You sure you used mix? Sounds a bit incoherent there my man...;)

What was it he said?????? :eyebrow:

Not only does NAUI let you combine Helitrox with Adv Nitrox / Deco Proc, but I believe they also let you combine Heliair with these courses (certification to 180').

Fantastic video, had me laughing the whole time. Thanks again to all you guys for your input, and the advice to take things slow. I can assure you I'm not interested in rushing into this, I have a lot of respect for diving, and what it takes to be safe. I've been diving for 14 years, so I've definetly gotten over the coolness/cowboy factor, and want to make sure what I do is done safely. I'm definetly taking my advanced nitrox/Deco procedures course this summer, so I figured if it's viable to add in some trimix theory and application while I'm at it, then great. If not I'll be happy to just do the courses without it, spend time at that level before moving to mix. In either case, I won't be rushing in on either fronts. I'm fully expecting to take the course this summer, and spend the rest of this season doing simulated deco on my current selection of recreational depth wrecks, until I feel confident in my ability to do true deco dives, but I always want to learn, and would love the challenge of learning more about trimix at the same time.

Anyway, thanks once again.

Jim

Please speak to your instructor about this. Mix is NOT a friendly gas to use.

Um, what?

I find diving Trimix diving just as easy as Nitrox diving just as easy as Air diving.

There's nothing special about it. Heck, we don't even know exactly what's going on in the body with Helium anyway...we just know it's better than Nitrogen. Well, except for that pesky HPNS thing. But that's not until somewhere around 400 feet...

Do I say just go dive it? No, definitely find an instructor and mentor who can evaluate you for the rigors of deeper diving...but as far as "mix is not friendly," it's just plain crap.

So you would advocate going from OW/AOW to mix instead of Nitrox?

Hmm ok. So lets both do a 90 minute dive to 100ft. I'll do it on EAN32, you do it on 30/30. Then we'll both ascend at 30fpm and get out of the water. Deal?

You and I both know that mix can be used recreationally. But for someone who is not familiar with holding stops, or shaping an ascent properly, mix is regarded as quite a bit less forgiving than nitrox. To pretend otherwise is dangerous and silly.
