SparkySFD once bubbled... The reason I ask is the pics I see on Halcyon's website dont appear to have them.
The ones where the diver can pull on the corrugated hose to dump air are not DIR.

My understanding is that the additional strain placed on the point where the hose attaches to the wing is the reason.

Well, you certainly can't live if you're not DIR either... ;)

Pull dumps are not DIR, however, I like them because the physically thether the inflator to the wing, I had a buddy of mine pull his inflator off his hose trying to get it unstuck, which left him pinned to the bottom of Devils Eye, ever rock climb underwater?? :)

Which manufacturers of wings have a pull dump? I am currently diving a Ranger with a backplate mounted in it, but would like to switch to a harness and would prefer to keep the pull-dump.

Thanks, Jim

Dive-Rite had them the last time I talked to one of their reps.

Well I know you can turn a pull dump to a non-pull dump, i wonder if you can turn a non-pull dump into a pull dump. I had a dive rite wing that had a pull dump and I replaced it for a non-pull dump.

Anyway....question for SparkySFD....Are you interested in becoming DIR? Cuz you can dive a bp/wing/harness and not be DIR just as well as you can. Just curious...not meaning to hijack your thread.

Not quite sure what your asking, but will tell you what Im thinking. Ive read a little about DIR and like what I see. Im watching a video tonight I downloaded. Im always looking for a better way to do something. In my job I get to do a little diving. I know our methods are lacking and am trying to improve them. I first heard of DIR in looking at different equipment. I also like the other aspects, not just the gear.

Yes I will probably go to a DIR equipment setup. At first I was going to buy a non-DIR harness. But I can always switch to a "deluxe harness" if the standard doesnt work for me. I dont know what DIR says about pony bottles yet, but will have a hard time giving that up.

I'm pretty sure all the wings have the bottom pull dump, they are talking about the inflator pull dump.
