Thinking about going to the 45# Oxycheq wing for singles. Is this considered DIR equipment?

The only reason I can think of why a wing that size might draw questions during a GUE class is the size. Why do you need that much lift (and the corresponding drag from a large bladder) for singles?

Actually due to the bellows design and placement on the 45lb wing, it's got exactly the same profile as the 30lb wing. The 45lb wing "grows" around the cylinder as it is fully inflated. Sort of need to see a picture to describe it better.

The only thing that would not be DIR about the wings would be the plastic knob on the rear dump valve - but on a single tank, you shouldn't be going anywhere that this would be a snag hazard. One could argue Halcyon left it off their wing as a cost saving measure :D

Nope. The 30 and 45 Oxys are the same size profile.

The 45 is very nice for single tank diving in the ocean, because it has additional SURFACE lift. You'll never need that (if you're properly weighted) underwater but do not underestimate the value of that lift when you surface into 5-6' seas.

And I believe that you can order a shorter Inflator hose than the "standard"

Yes, you can. You just have to specify that when you order the wing.

What is DIR inflator house length? Does everyone like the shorter hose?
