Are more hotels charging for pier use?

Isn't this all about these hotels pushing their own dive ops?

With a couple of exceptions that we have discussed in here ad nauseum, there is no "this".

i just read a FB post by a Cozumel dive op that says all hotels are now charging a $2 fee to pick up divers at the hotel pier. True?

What "dive op" posted this? Better yet, have a link to that post?

I've read many of these posts and I'm sorry, but paying $3.00 just isnt a deal breaker for me...In fact, its a non news issue.

I stay at Occidental and I happen to use their on site shop....try taking a bottle of wine into a restaurant and asking them to open it for you for free...this concept aint new folks!

Totally different situation - not even a logical analogy or comparison - sorry. There is so, so much more to it. In the end, it's not even about the money, it's about the procedures, manipulation and integrity of the hotels.
