I mostly snorkel and dive every once in a great while so I like to have a set of fins that are both good at scuba and snorkeling. I curently have the Tusa X-pert Zoom fins and I was considering the Biofin.

Is the Biofin that much better than the Tusa? More specifically, since I mostly snorkel, will the Biofin be a better snoreling fin than the Tusa fin?

Thanks
JC

ciocca1: Your TUSA X-pert Zoom fins are well made and very efficient fins.

The main difference for use as a snorkeling fin will be that Apollo bio-fins are manufactured from 100% natural rubber and are negatively buoyant. They stay in the water while you are snorkeling and have a comfortable oval shaped foot pocket. When you are diving barefoot or with a thin neoprene sock the soft all rubber foot pocket will provide more comfort w/o chaffing.

I think that the Full-Foot Bio Fins are discontinued, but these are was I use for Snorkeling and warm water diving. I also have the Tusa Zooms (strap) fins for cold water. I like both.

Leisurepro still has the Full-Foot Bios listed in L/XL See: Apollo Full Foot Bio UNI Fin from LeisurePro.com for $69.

I'm sure some others have stock too.

MDB, working for Apollo, would probably know better than anyone about the Biofins.

My experience is they are a good fin. A bit negatively buoyant. People with floaty feet like them.

As for using them while snorkeling, I personally like a fin a little negative so it is not slapping against the surface. However, I, personally, don't like split fins while snorkeling.

Having sold them in a dive shop, most people who bought them raved about them.

Also own a set of Tusa Xooms. Great fins!!!

I too have seen all the rave reviews about the Biofin....that is why I am interested. I also see great reviews about the Tusa x-pert zoom and I use and like them as well.

So the main difference is a bit of surface slapping with the Tusa fins and the biofins will mainly stay in the water....probably not woth $200.00 upgrade just for mostly snorkeling. I just have a bit of a Biofin fetish right now (LOL). I just would prabably like to lose the angle which makes it a bit difficult to wade in.....

Thanks for the input guys!
