how long have you been a photographer warren? also, how long have you been shooting underwater? also, are the aquatica housings as reputable as the ikelite housings? and how do the prices compare? thanks.

Hi Porsc, sorry for the delay - I just got back from 18 days in Truk Lagoon, and was without reliable internet for that time.

I've been a photographer for over 20 years now, shooting film SLRs since the mid-80s. I began underwater photography about 5 years ago, originally with my beloved Oly 5050 (which I sold to a friend, and is still functioning and taking great images to this day).

I have nothing but great things to say about both Ikelite's and Aquatica's customer service. Whenever there's been a problem or issue with either housing (and with Ikelite, my strobes as well), both have been quick to respond and complete any servicing required.

I'm not up to speed with current pricing as the C$ has really strengthened against the U$ since I bought my Aquatica, but at the time, the Aquatica was about 50% more, but still less expensive than other alum housings like Subal.
